Shift

2nd Shift - Hours 3:00pm - 1:30am; Monday - Thursday

Position Summary

The Operations Manager - 2nd Shift is responsible for overseeing production operations during the assigned shift to ensure safety, quality, efficiency, and on-time delivery goals are achieved at Workwear Outfitters. This role serves as a hands-on operational leader and primary point of contact during the shift and does not have direct supervisory responsibility.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and oversee daily production activities during the 2nd shift to meet operational targets
  • Monitor production flow, equipment performance, and material availability to minimize downtime
  • Act as the on-site production authority during the shift and escalate issues as appropriate
  • Ensure compliance with company safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
  • Collaborate with Maintenance, Quality, Warehouse, and other shifts to resolve operational issues
  • Track and communicate shift performance metrics, including output, gap time, and downtime
  • Support continuous improvement and lean initiatives
  • Provide guidance and coordination to production associates without direct reporting responsibility
  • Ensure accurate documentation, reporting, and shift handoff communication
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required; Associate or Bachelor's degree preferred
  • 3-5 years of manufacturing or production operations experience
  • Knowledge of production processes, safety standards, and quality systems
  • Ability to influence and lead without direct authority
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Basic proficiency in production systems and Microsoft Office applications

Physical & Work Environment Requirements

Manufacturing environment requiring extended periods of standing and walking. May involve exposure to noise, moving machinery, and varying temperatures. Personal protective equipment (PPE) required as applicable.
