Trading Operations & Onboarding Associate

Location: Denver, CO (hybrid)

About the Role

SS&C ALPS Advisors is seeking a Trading Operations and Onboarding Associate to support the efficient execution of trading activity and client onboarding across a range of investment strategies. This role is instrumental in ensuring operational accuracy, timely account setup, and smooth coordination across internal teams, custodians, and third-party partners.

This role offers exposure to trading workflows, portfolio operations, and client servicing in a dynamic and collaborative environment. How You Will Make an Impact

  • Client Onboarding: Manage the end-to-end onboarding process for new Managed Account clients, ensuring a seamless and efficient experience. This includes:
    • Collecting and verifying client data.
    • Coordinating with internal teams (e.g., legal, compliance, technology).
    • Setting up client accounts on our trading platform.
    • Tracking onboarding progress and reporting on key metrics.
    • Identifying and resolving any onboarding issues.
  • Trading Operations Support: Provide critical support to the trading team by:
    • Processing client requests (e.g., deposits, withdrawals, transfers).
    • Executing trades and rebalancing client accounts according to established strategies.
    • Managing and reconciling trade data.
    • Monitoring account performance and identifying potential issues.
    • Generating reports and providing data analysis.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other teams, including sales, client service, and technology, to ensure a coordinated and effective approach to client onboarding and trading operations.

Required Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, or a related field preferred
  • Solid understanding of financial markets and investment products; experience with SMAs or similar investment vehicles is a plus
  • Hands-on experience in at least one of the following: SMA operations, trading desk support, or investment operations
  • Ideal candidate will have experience onboarding clients, including data validation, working with custodial accounts, and ensuring accuracy across systems
  • Familiarity with trading or portfolio management platforms such as Moxy, Genesis, Advent, or similar systems preferred
  • Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy, particularly in onboarding and trading processes
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and with clients
  • Proactive problem-solver with the ability to quickly identify issues and implement solutions
  • Highly organized, able to manage multiple priorities, and perform well in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

Actual base salary will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to relevant skills, prior experience, education, demonstrated performance, and geographic location. Colorado: The expected base salary for the position is between $65,000 USD to $100,000 USD. In addition, employees in this role may be eligible for consideration on an annual basis for a discretionary bonus and/or equity awards, such as restricted stock units or stock options, based upon individual and business performance at the company's discretion.
