What to Expect

Consider beforesubmittingan application:

This position is expected to start around August or September 2026 and continue through the Fall term (endingapproximately December 2026) or continuing into Winter/Spring 2027 if available and there is an opportunity to do so. We ask for a minimum of12 weeks, full-time and on-site, for most internships. Our internship program is for students who are actively enrolled in an academic program. Recent graduates seeking employment after graduation and not returning to school should apply for full-time positions, not internships.

International Students: If your work authorization is through CPT, please consult your school on your ability to work 40 hours per week before applying. You must be able to work 40 hours per week on-site. Many students will be limited to part-time during the academic year.

What You'll Do
  • Analysis Engineering interns will work on projects supporting the design and production of current & future products

  • Support manufacturing-centric designs using CAE, CFD, and FEA simulations, balancing performance, durability, crash safety, fatigue, battery safety, and innovative manufacturing methods

  • Perform simulations to evaluate sub-systems and full product attributes, including thermal, fluid, electrical, and structural performance

  • Build and calibrate models using existing frameworks or novel academic/industry methods, correlating with test data

  • Analyze test data, root-cause discrepancies, and produce clear, data-driven reports for design feedback

  • Conduct optimization studies (e.g., DOE/DFSS) on components/assemblies to meet mass, cost, and performance targets

  • Collaborate with Design, Test, and Modeling teams to enhance predictive capabilities, provide thermal/hydraulic/electrical feedback, and contribute to DFMEA/specifications

  • Participate in feasibility analyses for manufacturing, assembly, and service processes


What You'll Bring
  • Currently pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field

  • Completion of statics, dynamics, and materials science courses

  • Strong problem-solving skills and interest in analytical/numerical techniques

  • Experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA), Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), Finite Volume Methods, and multidisciplinary domains (e.g., single/multi-phase CFD, thermal, coupled electrical-thermal CAE)

  • Applied experience in COMSOL, ANSYS-FLUENT, STAR-CCM+; MATLAB and Simulink preferred

  • Demonstrated experience in stand-alone or coupled analysis of electronic components for thermal, fluid mechanics,electro-magnetism, and structural performance

  • Exposure to HV battery design/optimization or automotive product development

  • Proven ability to deliver analysis under tight timelines, deconstruct complex test scenarios with logic/analytics, and thrive in iterative, collaborative engineering environments

    Expected Compensation
    $20.00 - $50.00/hour + benefits

    Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
