| Posting Summary |
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Hall Director Assistant for the School of Arts and Sciences. This position serves as: a secondary staff member responsible for supervising students and Resident Mentors (RM).
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
- Cofacilitate RM training and support teambuilding initiatives.
- Assist with planning and coordinating educational, social, and communitybuilding activities.
- Assist with residence hall opening and closing procedures.
- Participate in evening and weekend oncall duty rotation.
- Provide student supervision outside classroom hours.
- Support community development efforts and help lead programming.
- Follow all health, safety, and emergency response protocols as outlined in the SAEE Handbook.
- Respond to crises according to established procedures and staff direction.
- Document and communicate incident details in a timely manner.
- Attend staff meetings, trainings, and other required sessions.
- Assist with developing and managing the RM duty schedule.
- Serve as a resource and communication link for residents and staff.
- Distribute program materials, including flyers, forms, and information packets.
- Support clerical and administrative tasks as assigned.
- Perform additional duties as needed to support program success.

Qualifications
| Minimum Education and Experience |
- Bachelor's degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
- At least one (1) year of residence life experience.

- Must be able to commit to full-time employment for the duration of the Summer Institute.
- Employee is required to stay overnight in the residence Hall from July 6th to July 31, 2026.
- May not hold any outside employment.
- Must be willing to undergo a background check.
- Must have completed protection of Minors Certification before the program starts.
- The Summer Institute begins on July 13, 2026, through July 31, 2026.
- Must attend training starting on July 6 through July 10 before the start of the program.

Immunization Requirements
Under Policy 100.3.1 Immunization Policy for Covered Individuals, if employment will commence during Flu Season, Rutgers University may require certain prospective employees to provide proof that they are vaccinated against Seasonal Influenza for the current Flu Season, unless the University has granted the individual a medical or religious exemption. Additional infection control and safety policies may apply. Prospective employees should speak with their hiring manager to determine which policies apply to the role or position for which they are applying.
