In this position, you will be part of the Conservation Restoration and Inspection (CRI) Section within the Waterways and Wetlands Program for the Southwest Region. Your responsibilities will cover the entire eight-county area, where you will independently investigate the impacts of sediment pollution and water obstructions on the commonwealth's waters, including wetlands. Additionally, you will look into fish kills, monitor the effectiveness of stream and wetland mitigation required by permits, and address complaints related to violations of Chapter 105 Rules and Regulations, the Dam Safety and Encroachments Act, and the PA Clean Stream Law, all while adhering to established policies and procedures.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• Full-time employment
• Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
• Travel will be required for site visits
• Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 3 days per week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Pittsburgh. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

• One year as an Aquatic Biologist 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
• One year of professional experience in aquatic biology or water pollution biology and a bachelor's degree with a major in a biological science, natural science, environmental science, or natural resource management, including or supplemented by six college credits in freshwater aquatic biology, aquatic ecology, aquatic botany, water pollution biology, entomology, limnology, or closely related aquatic science coursework; or
• An equivalent combination of experience and training that includes six college credits in freshwater aquatic biology, aquatic ecology, aquatic botany, water pollution biology, entomology, limnology, or closely related aquatic science coursework.

Special Requirement:

• This position requires possession of a valid motor vehicle license.
