Description

Markon is seeking a skilled Reverse Engineer to support the Fort Meade Customer. This position will analyze malicious binaries using static and dynamic analysis techniques in order to determine malware functionality, identify indicators of compromise, and support detection and mitigation efforts. The Reverse Engineer will evaluate malicious code, identify adversary infrastructure and callbacks, and provide technical reporting to support cybersecurity operations.



Responsibilities

    Perform technical analysis of malicious binaries through controlled execution and/or static analysis of assembly code to determine functionality, capabilities, callbacks, adversary infrastructure, and indicators of compromise.
  • Analyze malware using reverse engineering tools such as Ghidra, IDA Pro, or similar platforms.
  • Overcome anti-analysis, obfuscation, and other techniques designed to defeat malware analysis.
  • Document findings and produce technical reports that support malware detection, signature creation, and mitigation.
  • Identify indicators of compromise including file artifacts, registry changes, network activity, and command-and-control infrastructure.
  • Support attribution efforts by identifying relationships between malware samples and adversary infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with analysts, incident responders, and threat intelligence teams to improve detection and response capabilities.


Qualifications

Required:

  • TS/SCI With Polygraph with this client is required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or related discipline from an accredited college or university.
  • Relevant experience must be in malware reverse engineering.
  • Experience performing static and dynamic analysis of malicious code and analyzing assembly-level instructions.
  • Experience using reverse engineering tools such as Ghidra, IDA Pro, or similar platforms.
  • CISSP, GIAC GREM, or CREA certification required.

Years of Experience

  • Level 2- Doctoral degree with 2 years of relevant experience, Master's degree with 3 years, Bachelor's degree with 5 years, or Associate's degree with 7 years.
  • Level 3- Doctoral degree with 4 years of relevant experience, Master's degree with 6 years, Bachelor's degree with 8 years, or Associate's degree with 10 years.
  • Level 4- Doctoral degree with 7 years of relevant experience, Master's degree with 9 years, Bachelor's degree with 11 years, or Associate's degree with 13 years.


Salary Range

USD $110,000.00 - USD $250,000.00 /Yr.

The Markon pay range for this position is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
