The Project Manager is responsible for leading and managing one or more cross-departmental transformation projects that align with the organization's strategic plan, regulatory requirements, new product development, or operational initiatives. This role will be responsible for assigned end to end project performance including, but not limited to: timeline adherence, budget management, and delivery quality. The projects may include the evaluation and/or implementation of services, systems, or opportunities aimed at driving business process improvement, innovation, and sustainable value, as well as supporting the overall program goals. Performs other duties as assigned.

Key Accountabilities



  • Project Management



    • Partner with Business and Technology stakeholders to define and/or understand project scope, milestones, resource capacity, and business outcomes


    • Identify resource requirements for the project, aligning to budget constraints and working with program leadership to facilitate hiring; reassess on a regular cadence


    • Partner with Product Management to ensure alignment across multiple ARTs and business stakeholders to ensure alignment across multiple divisions: role is to highlight and assist in resolving any gaps in alignment for deliverables


    • Understand and report on the progress of the project MVP with key stakeholders, including steering and portfolio management


    • Develop a critical path / business milestones and timeline in partnership with business, technology representatives and Product Management to meet business outcomes; continuously update critical path / milestones as necessary due to business decisions


    • Ensure coordination and synchronization of epic-related (project) activities across all entities as required (business readiness, communications, process design, technology delivery, etc.)


    • Ensure transparency and management of dependencies, issues and risks; facilitate resolution or decisions where needed


    • Hold teams accountable for their deliverables and commitments; serve as an escalation resource and help to remove obstacles and facilitate decisions


    • Support the Program and project representatives in managing the expectations for the project deliverable





  • Financial Management

    • Financial Management for projects assigned; ensure appropriate expenditures are applied to the project and work with program manager, financial representatives and / or Director Transformation Operations to resolve issues
    • Support development of business case(s,) partnering with program manager, business owners and across multiple workstreams such as Finance, Technology, etc.




  • Stakeholder Management

    • Collaboratively and effectively work with internal and external entities including external vendors
    • Organize, motivate, and provide leadership to cross-functional work teams from all operating areas
    • Manage executive stakeholder communications




Required Qualifications



  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in a related field
  • 3+ years of experience beyond degree


Preferred Qualifications



  • 3 years of experience managing cross-departmental programs
  • Leading cross-functional strategic and/or Transformation programs
  • Manage across a team of business owners, technology owners, change managers, operational readiness and training staff, with cross-functional teams upwards of 10 - 50+ people
  • End-to-end program management inclusive of Agile delivery methodologies
  • Strong executive communication skills and experience creating executive-level status reporting and PowerPoints
  • Ability to thrive in a fast paced, ambiguous environment
  • Preferred: PMP certification
  • Healthcare experience, particularly working in a payer environment


This position is an Office role, which requires an employee to work onsite at our Minnetonka, MN office, on average, 3 days per week.

The full salary grade for this position is $78,700 - $134,900. While the full salary grade is provided, the typical hiring salary range for this role is expected to be between $78,700 - $118,020. Annual salary range placement will depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, education, work experience, applicable certifications and/or licensure, the position's scope and responsibility, internal pay equity and external market salary data.
