Position Summary

Our Quick Coupling Division in Grantsburg, WI is looking for new CNC Operators to help keep the world moving. CNC Operators are responsible for operating and maintaining CNC machines to produce precision parts to print specifications. This position includes reading blueprints and CAD/CAM programs, selecting and setting tooling and offsets, performing first-article inspections, monitoring run conditions, documenting production data. This role ensures consistent quality, high productivity, and safe operation while supporting continuous improvement in a precision manufacturing environment.

Parker's Quick Coupling Division is the largest manufacturer of quick couplings in the world. A quick coupling is used to provide a fast, make-or-break connection of fluid or gas transfer lines. Our plants provide critical equipment for many different industries including Agriculture, Construction, and Data Processing.

Position Summary

  • Maintain a positive and professional attitude.
  • Use safety best practices including wearing appropriate PPE, practicing Behavior Based Safety, and performing LOTO.
  • Operate, set-up and adjust CNC lathes including multiple spindle CNC lathes.
  • Suggest improvements for standard or special tooling to suit materials or unusual cutting conditions.
  • Do Operational sequence planning; install chucks and collets, set bar stock feed mechanism and stops to perform operations such as face, turn, drill, ream, bore, tap, thread and cut off stock up to the capacity of the machine; set tooling offsets, adjust computer control settings, install tool holders; program reading and editing, capable of using PC/machine interface.
  • Check parts produced for dimensional and finish conformance to specifications. Must be able to correct deviation and notify lead of any significant deviation. Remove and reset tooling or otherwise adjust machine as required. Assure all parts are produced with minimum burrs, if any. Manually clean and deburr parts. Handle specialty parts with care.
  • Remove machined parts, bar ends and turnings from machine. Separate recyclable turnings.
  • Operate machines to produce pilot pieces for first piece verification to check set-ups; make adjustments to correct variances.
  • Maintain statistical process control charting.
  • Perform work required from drawings, engineering specifications, layouts and other operating instructions. Recommend improvements.
  • Use all standard, variable and attribute gauging to check work.
  • Responsible for keeping all tooling used in the area inventoried and organized in the mini-cribs.
  • Use ERR's to notify engineering and management of items to be reviewed.
  • Maintain proper oil and coolant levels and perform equipment required Total Preventative Maintenance (TPM).
  • Participate in the High Performance Team (HPT) and Continuous Improvement processes.
  • Participate on Corrective and Preventative Action (CAPA) teams as required.
  • Operate multi-spindle automatics, ISAMs, NoCAMS, and/or Hydromats if assigned by Lead or Supervisor.
  • Responsible for quality parts throughout production run.
Physical Requirements:
  • Continuously lifting and moving very light weight material (1-5 lbs).
  • Frequently lifting and moving average weight material (5-50 lbs).
  • Occasional lifting and moving heavy weight material up to (50 lbs. +) with assistance.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of one year of machining experience preferred.
  • Requires the use of complicated drawings, shop mathematics, handbook formulas, variety of precision measuring instruments.
  • Able to use judgement to perform and make decisions as to the sequence of set-ups and operation of CNC lathes.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to handle a fast-paced work environment.
  • Competent in the use of computers.
  • Parker will provide training for qualified applicants.
  • Must have taken and passed Parker QCD Basic Shop Course.

  • Starting Hourly Wage - $25.11
  • Shift Pay - $2.00
