Position Responsibilities
- Serve as a subjectmatter expert on revenue recognition (ASC 606), providing technical guidance on complex customer contracts, including multiPO arrangements, variable consideration, contract modifications, and SSP allocations.
- Lead and oversee contract deal reviews, evaluating draft sales agreements and advising on the accounting implications of contractual terms and conditions in partnership with sales, legal, and sales operations.
- Ensure accurate and consistent application of revenue policy, including documentation of accounting conclusions, review of revenuerelated journal entries, and oversight of deferred revenue and related reconciliations.
- Own and support monthend and quarterend close activities related to revenue, including review of journal entries, account reconciliations, balance sheet analysis, and variance explanations.
- Act as a key point of contact for internal and external audits, including preparation of audit support, walkthroughs, issue resolution, and ongoing audit readiness for revenuerelated processes and controls.
- Train, mentor, and develop team members on revenue recognition principles, including coaching on judgmentbased assessments and review of contract terms in draft sales agreements.
- Partner crossfunctionally with Sales, Legal, FP&A, and Finance leadership to provide practical, businessoriented accounting guidance while ensuring compliance with ASC 606 and accounting standards.
- Drive process improvement and operational efficiency, identifying opportunities to reduce manual effort, standardize reviews, and derisk singlethreaded activities within the revenue accounting function.
- Champion a forwardlooking, automation and AIenabled mindset, leveraging tools and emerging technologies to improve scalability, consistency, and decisionmaking in revenue accounting processes.
- Prepare quarterly deal reviews by reviewing contracts and manually calculating allocation.
- Prepare accounting memos on complicated sales contracts and other revenue recognition-related accounting positions.
- Perform annual calculation of SSP.
- Manage a team of 2.
Qualifications
- Strong, hands-on experience in reviewing and analyzing Software, SaaS, and Professional Services contracts to identify revenue-related issues for resolution and proper accounting treatment.
- Strong understanding of revenue recognition impacts on financial statements, disclosures, and internal controls.
- Ability to act as a trusted advisor to sales, legal, sales operations, product team, FP&A and senior finance leadership.
- Demonstrated experience training team members on ASC 606, including the assessment and evaluation of revenue recognition impacts arising from terms and conditions in draft sales agreements.
- 8-12+ years of revenue recognition.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting; CPA strongly preferred.
- Ability to prepare accounting memos on complicated sales contracts and other revenue recognition-related accounting positions.
- Experience serving as a key reviewer/approver of deal reviews, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
- Handson experience with monthend and quarterend close processes, including revenuerelated journal entries and reconciliations.
- Experience supporting internal and external audits, including documentation, walkthroughs, and issue resolution.
- Comfortable working in environments with manual processes and driving improvements.
- Strong interest in applying AI and automation tools to streamline workflows and enhance decisionmaking.
- Proactively identifies opportunities to streamline workflows, standardize reviews and reduce manual efforts.

Compensation Info The U.S. salary range for this position is $120,000.00-$160,000.00. This range is subject to change as Deltek takes a number of factors into consideration when determining individual base pay, such as location, job-related knowledge, skills and experience. Certain roles are eligible for additional rewards, including incentive compensation and equity.
