Position Summary

Worthington Enterprises is seeking a Project Engineer to support a broad range of moderately complex engineering projects. This role is responsible for the design, implementation, and execution of projects that may include new equipment procurement and installation, machine safety improvements, maintenance initiatives, equipment enhancements, new product launches, sales support, and training support.

Projects may be small, stand-alone initiatives or components of larger projects managed by senior leaders. The role also includes troubleshooting production equipment and processes to ensure maximum quality and throughput, while identifying and implementing cost-saving opportunities across the facility.

Key Results

  • Successful delivery of projects on time, within budget, and with required functionality
  • Effective monitoring and communication of project cost and schedule to stakeholders
  • Accurate integration of new systems and equipment
  • Proactive risk identification and mitigation throughout the project timeline

Key Responsibilities

Project Management



  • Define project scope and objectives
  • Develop and manage project budgets and schedules
  • Identify and manage project risks and issues
  • Communicate project status and performance metrics to stakeholders


Stakeholder Communication



  • Provide clear and consistent updates on project status and key metrics


Technical Support



  • Troubleshoot and support production equipment and processes
  • Provide technical assistance to Sales and other departments


Other Duties



  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned

Required Skills & Competencies

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving and organizational abilities
  • Experience with product and process design techniques (APQP, Flow Charts, Control Plans, FMEA, PPAP, etc.)
  • Intermediate knowledge of machine design and operating principles
  • Intermediate knowledge of machine repair and troubleshooting practices
  • Proficiency in CAD, PC systems, and PLCs
  • Hands-on, independent contributor who thrives in team environments
  • Ability to travel 25-50%

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent experience preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of related engineering experience
  • Project management training preferred (MS Project, Gantt charts, PM methodologies, etc.)
