Overview
Role reports directly to our Director of Financial Planning & Analysis and will be responsible for partnering with them to ensure corporate-wide transition into a product sales-based model.
Responsibilities
Lead development of product lifecycle management system to track development of portfolio of products from 1) initial investment, to 2) pricing and product sales, to 3) downstream enhancement and maintenance once product is released for sale.
- Maintain and advise on all financial matters related to our Chief Technology Organization
- Working with project control and indirect budgeting leads, develop and maintain operational budget for the overall portfolio of product and pilot program implementations.
- Monitor and advise on product development schedules and milestone/release date achievement in relation to budgets established
- Implement tracking system to clearly define product and offerings revenue cohesively through product lifecycle from sales opportunities to recognized revenue
- Ability to respond to Ad Hoc questions and provide advisement to CTO on key development milestones, internal budget overage/underage and actual and anticipated sales revenue across a portfolio of products.
- Build and maintain sophisticated models to evaluate development costs, pricing strategies, acquisition strategies and operation models
- Prepare monthly and quarterly Board-level reporting that tells the financial health of our investments and the actual and anticipated return of those investments
- Build in process automation with Adaptive/Workday forecasting tool to ensure data integrity across the organization related to our internal development costs, capitalized and amortized development costs, and revenue streams related to return on investments
- Provide financial consultation to our development, technology and marketing teams to help them understand their spend vs. performance; and build business cases for expansions in new product offerings and initiatives.
Qualifications
- 8-10 yrs of experience in FP&A specifically focused on product development and software lifecycles
- Familiarity with product development investment models related to future annual revenue streams
- Knowledge and understanding of Costpoint to include ability to provide insight and deeper level analysis on reports being deployed
- Prior use and understanding of forecasting systems (Adaptive preferred).
- Advanced Excel abilities
- Proven ability to work with large data sets to consolidate them into informational reports for corporate-level leadership
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment with ability to explain findings to director/VP/SVP level resources
- Undergraduate in mathematics, finance or accounting. MBA preferred.
- Ability to work with several different stakeholders to provide consistency in operations, reporting and outcomes
