Job Description

What Will You Do?

The role will initially be responsible for booking loan trades that hedge our Total Return Swaps (TRS) to clients as well as booking/updating the TRS, which is mostly done in Excel with macros.

The candidate will also be responsible for reconciling/confirming positions, tracking and resolving margin disputes and booking loan hedge accrual resets.

Candidate will also participate in migrating the bookings from spreadsheets to a strategic booking solution to automate:

  • Desk PnL, downstream
  • Market and counterparty risks,
  • Settlements and accounting.

Additionally, the candidate will assist with internal presentations and approvals for both TRS and SPV Financing structures and support senior desk member with financing asset level approvals received from clients.

Skill Set:

  • Self-Starter
  • Knowledge of trading markets, derivatives, credit/loan markets a plus
  • Strong technology skills
  • Knowledge of RBC support teams processes (Market Risk, Credit Risk, Counterparty Credit Risk, Product Control, Ops)
  • Understanding and interest in fundamental credit analysis a plus

The good-faith expected salary range for the above position is $135,000 - $165,000 depending on factors including but not limited to the candidate's experience, skills, registration status; market conditions; and businessneeds.Thissalary range does not include other elements of total compensation, including a discretionary bonus and benefits such as a 401(k) program with company-matching contributions; health, dental, vision, life and disability insurance; and paid time-off plan.

  • Appropriate licenses and registrations

  • Supports Non-Traditional ABS origination team within the broader ABS Origination and Global Spread Products businesses

KEY RELATIONSHIPS

  • Provide critical support to senior ABS bankers for client coverage
  • Coach and mentor junior Analysts and Associates for transaction/pitch execution and to foster growth
  • Regular coordination with ABS syndicate, ABS sales, ABS trading, ABS financing, Corporate Banking, Global Investment Banking and other internal stakeholders to deliver the best of RBC to our clients

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Comfortable and effective multitasking in a fast-paced and pressure-filled trading floor environment with competing priorities and deadlines
  • Strong computer and analytical skills
  • Considerable attention to detail is required
  • Hours are unpredictable and as needed
  • Team and position are based in New York; some travel is expected
