Bethel University is seeking a compassionate and experienced Registered Nurse to join our Health Services team. In this role, you will partner with the Director of Health Services to provide high-quality clinical care, support daily clinic operations, and promote student health and wellness across campus.

This position blends hands-on nursing care with clinic leadership responsibilities-including triage, treatments, clinical systems management, and health promotion initiatives. You will play a vital role in helping students stay healthy so they can fully engage in their academic and spiritual journey.

College health offers a unique and rewarding environment where no two days are the same. This role is ideal for a nurse who enjoys working independently, building relationships with students, and contributing to a collaborative campus health team.

This is an on-campus position, working 25-35 hours per week, 10-months per year, with a predictable weekday schedule aligned with the academic calendar.

What you'll do

Patient Care - 60%
  • Work directly with NP providing initial assessment to include vital signs, current medications/allergies.
  • Provide nurse visits and implement standing orders when situation warrants or provider not available.
  • Provide orientation to temporary clinical staff, oversees their work and ensures updated training when appropriate.
  • Oversee triage of patients related to urgency of patient needs and provider availability.
  • Implement orders for in-house labs, blood draws, immunizations, wound care and treatments as directed by NP.
  • Provide patient education and referral, and communicate with patients for follow-up as necessary.

Clinical Operations - 20%
  • Responsible for management of Clinical Inventory, Lab Services, EMR applications.
  • Supervise inventory and order of all medications, medical supplies, lab supplies and vaccines.
  • Oversee the laboratory control testing for all CLIA-waived tests.
  • Maintains open lines of communication among clinical, administrative and professional staff.

Vendor Liaison - 10%
  • Serve as Lab Interface monitor.
  • Provide primary contact between Health Services and outside lab, EMR, vaccine and medical supply vendors.

Health Education and Promotion - 10%
  • Coordinate annual fall vaccine clinic together with Nursing Department and Events Services.
  • Coordinate annual spring TST screening days for Nursing Department.

Qualifications

Education, Licensure & Experience

Required Education: Bachelor's degree in nursing.

Preferred Education: Master's degree in nursing.

  • Must hold a current Minnesota nursing licensure.
  • Must hold a CPR certificate.

Required Experience
  • 3+ years of experience working the field of nursing.

Preferred Experience
  • 5+ years of experience working the field of nursing.
  • Previous experience working in college health.


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Must have strong nursing assessment skills.
  • Expertise in first aid and emergency care.
  • Working knowledge of electronic medical records.
  • Working knowledge of all state and federal health care related laws and guidelines.
  • Must be able to build working relationships.
  • Must be able to work individually and as a part of a team.
  • Must be a clear communicator.
  • Must be comfortable working in stressful situations.
  • Must be able to handle confidential information.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft and Google Suites.
  • Must be able to lift, carry, push/pull up to 35 pounds. Ability to reach, bend and use step stool.


Travel: This position does not require travel.

Expected Hours of Work:

Typically, days and hours of work are Monday through Thursday, with the expectation to work specific schedules and hours as identified and communicated by management. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. This is a 25 - 35 hour per week, 10 months per year position.
