JOB PURPOSE: The Employment Services Case Manager will identify and develop optimal employment opportunities for vulnerable individuals, while providing support to clients and empowering them to obtain and maintain employment.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Internal Responsibilities:
- o Develops employment placements and opportunities for individuals on caseload in a timely manner.
- o Communicate with Program Manager status of job development for each person on caseload weekly and reach out to same when met with obstacles to meet job placement goal.
- o Accurate and timely submission of necessary documents for services completed and invoicing. Along with all required supplemental documentation.
- Actively markets Job Supportive Services to employers in order to secure sites for job placement of clients.
- Attend conferences, meetings, trade events, hiring fairs, etc. as assigned.
- Communicate with Program Manager any and all service delivery issues
- Communicate with Program Manager any and all requests for services.
- Client Responsibilities:
- o Coordinates with the individual, their employer, family support, case managers, and other stakeholders as needed.
- o Provide client progress updates to referring case managers and program leadership as assigned.
- o Document phone calls, emails and time spent with individuals served and their families as required by funder, grant, and contract guidelines.
- o Provide individualized support to match each client to an appropriate job based on job interest/skills.
- o Work with stakeholders and individuals to ensure clients are given personalized service to meet individual needs.
- Provide employment services to include: job placement services, job coaching, workplace readiness education, resume, job references, interview preparation, employment opportunities matching, pre-employment assessments and skills screening, job acceptance counseling.
- o Conduct job readiness training for clients receiving services from Endeavors programs in accordance with specific grant requirements.
- o Conduct life skills training sessions for clients receiving services from Endeavors programs in accordance with specific grant requirements.
- Employer Client Responsibilities:
- o Develop and maintain relationships with employers within the community to increase the potential employer network.
- o Responsible for explaining our services including on the job supports, training supports, job coaching to potential employers.
- o Responsible for following up with existing employer contacts and potential new employers to determine their hiring needs.
- o Meets with targeted employers to identify employment opportunities within the community.
- o Where needed, negotiates with employers to customize job responsibilities for the client that are consistent with the client's abilities and address unmet needs of employers.
- Works with and advocates for appropriate accommodations for JSS clients. This includes educating not only JSS clients but also employers on scheduling needs, disability awareness, and accommodations.
- Misc. Responsibilities:
- o Uses excellent written and verbal communication skills, problem solving skills and effective time management skills.
- o Travel from job site to job site on a daily basis depending on caseload.
- o Demonstrate exceptional customer service, in everything you do, placing the client first to support our mission to "Empower people to build better lives for themselves, their families and their communities."
- o Additional job duties as assigned by Program Manager.
EDUCATION: Undergraduate degree in social work, social sciences, psychology, disability services, or related field from an accredited college or university. Minimum of 1 year of experience relevant to the position. LICENSES: Driver's License with clean driving record required.
VEHICLE: Valid driver's license, access to an automobile, insurance, and willingness to drive to off-site locations required. Able and willing to travel around Austin and surrounding areas up to 75% of time.
WORK LOCATION: Must be able to work from home in a private space and on-site location.
OTHER:
- Proficiency in English (written and spoken language skills).
- Knowledge of community resources and ability to connect families to community services preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Must be available to work evenings and weekends occasionally.
- Must be able to work independently.
