This role supports the company's business development and capture planning efforts by monitoring federal procurement activity, organizing opportunity intelligence, and maintaining the company's opportunity pipeline. The position focuses on structured market research and opportunity tracking, ensuring company leadership maintains visibility into upcoming federal procurements across targeted agencies. This role is designed for an early-career professional interested in federal markets, government contracting, and business development strategy.

Responsibilities
Opportunity Identification
Monitor federal procurement platforms, agency forecast portals, and other industry sources to identify new opportunities aligned with WOOD's capabilities.
- Track upcoming procurements, recompetes, and forecasted opportunities across targeted federal agencies.
- Identify early indicators of new procurements.
Pipeline Management
- Maintain and update the company's opportunity pipeline within internal tracking systems.
- Track procurement milestones
- Ensure opportunity information is organized and accurate for leadership review and capture decision making.
Opportunity Research & Analysis
- Develop concise opportunity briefs summarizing key details including:
- agency and program office
- contract vehicle
- estimated contract value
- incumbent contractor
- anticipated procurement timeline
- potential competitors or partners
- Evaluate opportunities for alignment with WOOD's technical capabilities and strategic focus areas.
Market Intelligence
- Conduct research on federal agency mission areas and procurement trends.
- Track recompete opportunities for existing contracts approaching expiration.
- Monitor competitor activity and identify potential teaming or partnership opportunities.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in business, public policy, data analytics, research, engineering, or a related field.
- 0-3 years of professional experience in research, analysis, government contracting, or market research.
- Strong analytical and research skills with the ability to synthesize complex information.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Comfort working with structured data, spreadsheets, or tracking systems.
Desired Qualifications
- Interest in federal procurement, government contracting, or national security markets.
- Understanding of federal acquisition terminology.
- Experience conducting research and organizing structured information for decision-making.
