Prior experience in an office and/or research/laboratory setting 0-1 year preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- MS Office proficiency as well as the ability to learn how to use new software as needed.
- Effective interpersonal and communications skills, with research staff, children, and subject families.
- Ability to problem-solve and troubleshoot.
- An ability to work independently to schedule, plan, and complete subject visits.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Assist lab staff in curating papers, performing experiments to understand immunology of ocular diseases, stem cell biology, gene networks important in modulating ocular tissue regeneration. Perform basic immunological and molecular biology lab experiments, organize lab notebooks, organize lab reagents, basic animal husbandry and approved procedures.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Cell culture, Flow cytometry, ELISA, PCR, IHC, etc

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Must be enrolled in an undergraduate program of study. Good understanding of basic life science concepts, how to use PubMed and other online tools

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Lab setting.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Possible lifting of 10 to 20 lbs., depending on nature of chosen project(s).
