Position Summary Information






Primary Purpose
The Associate Director of Campus Experience & Events supports the university's enrollment goals by enhancing the student journey at University of the Pacific. This position ensures that students, prospective students, and families receive concierge-level service through personalized support and seamless experiences. The Associate Director executes critical strategies that support Pacific's recruitment, yield, and retention efforts. This position serves as the lead enrollment liaison, coordinating with the University Events office for Admitted Student Days, Open House events, and other major recruitment events.
The position manages the Visitor Center, staffed by the dynamic Tiger Team of student workers, delivering robust campus tours and helping to organize large-scale admission events.
Essential Functions
Manage the Visitor Center and Tiger Team:

  • Supervise and mentor the Tiger Team, a group of student ambassadors, to deliver high-quality, informative, and engaging campus tours.
  • Coordinate the scheduling, hiring and training of the Tiger Team to provide a memorable experience for prospective students and families.
  • In partnership with enrollment strategy leadership, develop and manage the Visitor Center's strategic initiatives to enhance campus tours and admission events.



Event Coordination:

  • Serve as the primary enrollment staff liaison to the University Events office, collaborating on large-scale admission events such as Admitted Student Days and Open Houses.
  • Ensure events align with Pacific's recruitment goals and deliver impactful, positive experiences for prospective students and their families.
  • In partnership with University Events, ensure smooth event logistics, including facilities, communications, and academic department participation.
  • Lead planning and implementation of specialized recruitment initiatives, including high school counselor fly-in programs and counselor visit days, positioning Pacific as a top-choice institution among influencers.

Collaborate on Recruitment, Yield, and Retention Efforts:

  • Work closely with the enrollment team to align the Visitor Center's operations with the university's recruitment and retention strategies.
  • Regularly assess student and visitor experiences to identify opportunities for process improvements and innovation.


Admissions & Recruitment Engagement

  • Represent the Office of Admission during peak travel and recruitment seasons, serving as an on-campus admission counselor and providing a consistent presence in information sessions, tours, and family meetings.
  • During reading season, participate in application review to support the undergraduate admission operation.
  • As needed, assist in hyper-local recruitment.

Other Responsibilities

  • Partner closely with university leaders, including the President, to identify and incorporate meaningful leadership involvement in the campus visit and event experience, fostering authentic connections.
  • Contribute to the overall success of the Division of Enrollment Strategy and the University by performing all other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in enrollment or other related field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree
  • Strong knowledge of enrollment management, student support services, and event management.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build rapport across diverse groups.
  • Proven ability to lead teams, manage multiple priorities, and provide exceptional service in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with a focus on continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Experience with student information systems, CRM platforms, and event management software.
  • Familiarity with Pacific's campus culture and the ability to represent the university to prospective students and families in an engaging, authentic manner.
  • Experience and sensitivity in working with people of diverse backgrounds and cultures.
  • Demonstrated experience in advancing social justice, equity, and inclusion in a university setting.
  • Ability to engage and integrate culturally responsive practices and knowledge in their work.

Physical Requirements

Work is primarily performed in a standard office environment with use of computer and phone interspersed with active, hands-on event execution. Requires extended periods of sitting and repetitive hand/wrist motion while using computer keyboard and phone. During events, requires frequent standing, walking, climbing stairs, bending, stooping and reaching. In addition:

  • You must be comfortable standing and moving for 6-8+ hours during event days.
  • The "set-up and break down" phase could involve moving furniture and lifting heavy materials, typically up to 30 pounds.
  • "Hosting" implies you are the face of the organization, requiring high energy, interpersonal skills, and professional presentation.


Travel is required as needed contingent on recruitment territory. Valid driver's license required. Incumbent must also be able to meet the University's fleet rules and be eligible to drive for University business. The University and its insurance carrier reserves the right to exclude applicants based on their driving record.
Hiring Range $80K - $90K; We consider factors such as, but not limited to, scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's qualifications, internal equity, as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.
