MARYLAND TRANSIT ADMINISTRATION Data Analyst/Process Optimization Specialist (TE) (Administrator IV, 2589) This is a temporary employment (TE) opportunity, one-year employment. The Maryland Transit Administration (MTA), an agency within the Maryland Department of Transportation (MDOT), is seeking a Data Analyst/Process Optimization Specialist (TE) to assist with process improvements through data analysis, workflow automation, and inter-office coordination. This role is essential in modernizing project delivery practices, implementing automation solutions, and aligning processes with MTA's strategic goals. Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement project management tools, automate workflows using Microsoft Power Platform, and integrate other technological solutions. Create dashboards, automate data collection, and support strategic reporting needs.
- Identify and analyze process inefficiencies, develop solutions, and implement improvements across multiple departments.
- Work closely with project teams and fund managers to gather information, brainstorm solutions, evaluate changes, and resolve issues. Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical staff.
- Support professional development and training for staff engaged in capital delivery.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's Degree or certification in a quantitative field such as computer science, engineering, mathematics, economics, statistics, etc. Experience & Skills:
- Proficiency in SQL and scripting languages, such as R or Python, is required!!!!!
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience in business process improvement.
- Knowledge of project management principles and tools.
- Ability to work collaboratively across departments and communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps and Power Automate), Tableau or other data visualization software a plus.
- Experience in developing dashboards and automating workflows.
Notes: 1. Thirty graduate semester credits from a college or university in the fields of HR administration, business administration, public administration, statistics, tests and measurements, or psychology may be substituted for one year of experience. 2. Paraprofessional HR experience or professional HR management work experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for up to four years of the required education. 3. Candidates may substitute equivalent U.S. Armed Forces military service experience on a year-for-year basis for up to four years of the required education.
