Hourly Pay Range:

$17.00 - $25.50 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Position Highlights:

  • Position: Pool Attendant

  • Location: Chicago, IL

  • Part time, 16 weekly hours

  • Hours: Mondays and Thursdays 4:45am-12:45pm

  • Required Travel: None

A brief summary:

  • Attend to the pool areas to maintain a safe and welcoming environment while assisting and engaging with members and guests.

What you will do:

  • Maintain constant awareness of the pool and deck area at all times. Engage proactively with members and guests to ensure proper use of the pool and equipment.

  • Enforce pool rules in a professional and respectful manner. Respond to unsafe behavior or emergencies as needed.

  • Set up and take down equipment for pool programs and classes, ensuring swim lessons, water aerobics, and other activities are properly equipped and supported.

  • Monitor pool conditions by taking chemical and temperature readings and reporting maintenance concerns to the appropriate staff.

  • Ensure the pool area remains clean, organized, and free of safety hazards.

What you will need:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Heart saver CPR/AED certification from AHA or higher certification.

  • Previous experience as a lifeguard or in a similar field is preferred.

  • Must be able to swim and tread water.

  • Must have strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to give clear direction, offer assistance, and interact in a friendly, helpful manner with individuals of all ages and diverse backgrounds.

  • Must be comfortable performing physical duties such as moving lane lines and working in a warm, humid aquatic environment.
