Job Description

As part of the unit based team, this position is responsible for providing direct and indirect care to patients under the supervision of a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department

Key Responsibilities:

In addition to providing clinical care for patients, this position also rotates to oversee the patients and families in ED waiting area; providing assistance to patients' upon arrival, assisting the triage RN in identifying medical necessity, supporting and providing information to patients, families and staff.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with patients, guests, and co-workers in English both verbally and in writing.
  • Exceptional people skills and an ability to function in a calm manner in stressful situations
  • Has the ability to adapt, prioritize, and function in a fast paced, constantly changing environment.

License/Certification/Registration Requirements

  • National Registered Paramedic - National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians, OR Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) - National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians OR proof of current completion of 2 semesters in an accredited Registered Nursing Program.
  • Basic Lifesaving Certification - American Heart Association.

This position is responsible for the care of neonate, infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.

Salary Range:

$36.74 - $46.45 USD Hour
