Registered Nurse (RN) - School for Children with Developmental Disabilities, Northern Westchester, NY

FlexStaff is seeking a seasoned Registered Nurse for our Client, a private day and boarding school for students with developmental disabilities, located in Westchester, NY.

Schedule: 3 shifts for 12hours, either 7:00am-7:00pm or 8:00am - 8:00pm.

Please note there is no public transportation to the work site. Please have a reliable car.

In this role you will be responsible for providing front direct and indirect nursing, medical and overall proactive wellness support both on and off campus, guiding and mentoring students, assisting with emergency response procedures.

An ideal candidate for this role would have an Associate's Degree, or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, from an accredited nursing program; Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of New York, and a minimum of three (3) years' experience as a registered nurse; experience in pediatrics preferred. Experience working with adolescents and young adults on the autism spectrum or/and psychiatric patients is preferred.

Job Duties include, but not limited to:

• Schedule appointments (bloodwork, medical, vision, dental, etc.) as needed.
• Routinely monitor height, weight, and vital signs.
• Administer prescribed student medications.
• Collaborate with nutritionist/food service on dietary needs.
• Conduct admission/discharge body-mark checks and follow-ups after incidents.
• Coordinate prescriptions and refills with medical providers and pharmacies.
• Work within an interdisciplinary team (psychiatric, clinical, education, direct-care).
• Provide health education to students via Direct Support Professionals, promoting healthy habits.
• Perform any other required responsibilities.
