UC San Diego Health, Moores Retail Pharmacy is seeking a highly motivated Staff Pharmacist to work in a position covering the ambulatory oncology retail pharmacies. Under general supervision, responsible for provision and documentation of medications and medication-related services to patients according to standards established by the Department of Pharmacy, as well as assisting in the on-boarding and ongoing patient management of oncology patients. The pharmacist will serve as a preceptor to pharmacy residents and students as assigned and will participate in Medical Center and Departmental committees and promote institution-wide medication use policy. Be able to provide medication counseling in the pharmacy and at the patient's chairside as part of the UCSD Med to Chair program. Be a self-starter who is accountable and requires minimal direction and supervision; a person who is open to new ideas; and a creative and flexible individual who is comfortable working in a large, complex organization. Possess the personal characteristics of professionalism, credibility, commitment to high standards, innovation, discriminating judgment and accountability. Must be able to work variable shifts to include weekends, holidays and overtime as required. Must be willing to rotate to all pharmacy areas/sites. Demonstrate knowledge of pharmacy state and federal regulations; interpersonal and customer service skills; supervisory skills to include workload management; ability to operate computer systems; demonstrate teaching skills and writing skills. Have excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing and be able to articulate complex ideas for all levels of audiences. Work with the physicians and the pharmacy billers to provide justification for obtaining authorization for medications. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Pay Transparency Act Annual Full Pay Range: $188,609 - $212,350 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%) Hourly Equivalent: $90.33 - $101.70 Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position.
