What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to client representatives, employees, drivers, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a logistics and distribution location.
  • Screen and verify individuals entering the facility, including checking identification, reviewing visitor credentials, and directing traffic to designated check-in and check-out points.
  • Support access control by assisting with entry and exit processes for employees, vendors, and contractors, following site requirements and documentation practices.
  • Monitor inbound and outbound screening areas for unusual activity and report concerns to site leadership and/or Allied Universal supervision.
  • Use established procedures to check packages, bags, and personal items when assigned, following posted rules and respecting privacy requirements.
  • Assist with maintaining orderly flow at screening points during shift changes and peak shipping periods, providing clear directions and customer service.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including medical incidents, disputes, alarms, and suspicious activity.
  • Complete reports and logs of screening activity, incidents, and irregularities, and communicate updates during shift turnovers.
  • Operate security-related equipment as assigned, such as radios, phones, badge readers, and monitoring systems, and report malfunctions.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around interior work areas, entrances, docks, and the perimeter as assigned, noting hazards, unsecured doors, and unusual conditions.
  • Support loading dock and yard operations by observing for unauthorized access and/or policy violations and reporting concerns through the chain of command.
  • Follow post orders and escalation procedures, and coordinate with onsite management and/or emergency responders when appropriate.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A guard card and/or license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
