Job Description




As a Security Officer - Transit Reception Desk in Jacksonville, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Transportation, and more. As a Front Desk Officer with Allied Universal at a transportation location, you will greet employees and visitors, manage access control and badging, monitor cameras and alarms, and document security-related activity with clear, professional reports. You will be a visible first point of contact, helping to support order and quick response to incidents through strong communication and customer service. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to visitors, contractors, and personnel by following site-specific security-related procedures, access control requirements, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Operate the front desk post by greeting arrivals, verifying identification and/or authorization, issuing temporary badges and/or passes, and directing individuals to the proper location.
  • Monitor and control entry to the facility through lobby doors, turnstiles, and/or gate communication systems, helping to deter unauthorized access.
  • Answer and route incoming telephone calls and radio traffic, relay messages to operations and/or management, and maintain professional communication during high-traffic periods.
  • Monitor cameras, alarms, and other security-related systems from the front desk, identify irregular activity, and report concerns per post orders.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including coordinating notifications to Allied Universal supervision and site contacts.
  • Document shift activity, visitor activity, incidents, and service requests in written and/or electronic logs; complete required reports with accurate details and timelines.
  • Support transportation and logistics workflows by screening deliveries at the reception point, coordinating with receiving personnel, and following procedures for vendor and driver check-in.
  • Participate in required briefings and training, follow site policies and Allied Universal standards, and support a customer-focused front desk presence.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have a minimum of 2 years of security experience.
  • Provide proof of a high school diploma and/or GED as required by the client.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
