As a Security Officer Armed Federal Patrol in Surry, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer supporting a government transportation location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, and remain highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents. You will respond to alarms and calls for service, document observations, and communicate clearly with staff and visitors while delivering strong customer service. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to visitors and personnel by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government transportation location.
  • Carry and maintain authorized duty firearm and related equipment in accordance with Allied Universal policies, post orders, and applicable laws, completing required checks and documentation.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of buildings, parking areas, vehicle yards, and perimeter points to help to deter unwanted activity and identify maintenance and security-related concerns.
  • Control access at designated points by verifying identification, issuing visitor credentials, and directing deliveries and service providers according to site procedures.
  • Monitor alarms, cameras, radios, and other systems, reporting irregular activity and coordinating responses with site representatives as needed.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, providing first response actions within the scope of training and post orders.
  • Assist with traffic control and routing of vehicles and pedestrians during peak activity, special events, road operations, and/or facility movements as directed by post orders.
  • Complete detailed incident reports, patrol logs, and shift activity documentation, escalating issues through the chain of command and maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Interact professionally with local law enforcement and emergency services when requested, preserving the scene and providing observations until relieved.
  • Support a professional environment by enforcing site rules related to restricted areas, prohibited items, and/or prohibited behavior in a respectful, service-oriented manner.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have at least 6 months of security-related experience.
  • Possess an armed guard card and/or license.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
