Job Description




As a Security Officer - Unarmed Distribution Patrol in Miami, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer at a busy logistics and distribution location, you will monitor the property, conduct routine foot patrols, stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents, and report concerns with clear, professional communication. You will support a welcoming environment for employees and visitors through strong customer service and teamwork. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to our clients by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a logistics and distribution setting.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including disruptions to yard and dock operations, vehicle accidents, and facility alarms.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of warehouses, loading docks, trailer yards, parking areas, and perimeter fencing, with working environments and conditions that may vary by location.
  • Monitor access control points and assist with verifying identification, visitor and contractor check-in, and delivery and pickup activity in accordance with site procedures.
  • Complete routine reporting and documentation such as incident reports, shift logs, and patrol activity records, and communicate status updates to site leadership and Allied Universal management.
  • Observe and report suspicious activity, unsecured doors, open gates, damaged fencing, and other conditions that may help to deter unauthorized entry and/or theft.
  • Assist with controlling vehicle and pedestrian traffic in the yard and at entrances during peak shipping and receiving periods and/or during special events.
  • Use communication devices and site systems as trained to coordinate responses, request assistance, and escalate issues when needed.
  • Support emergency and non-emergency response tasks such as evacuations, severe weather procedures, medical calls, and lockdown steps as directed by location-specific policy.
  • Maintain a professional presence and provide directions and general assistance to employees, drivers, and visitors while enforcing location rules in a respectful manner.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
