Position located at Mercy Hospital St. Louis, MO - Ballas Campus A community health worker is a front-line public health worker who is a trusted member of and/or has an unusually close understanding of the community served. This trusting relationship enables the worker to serve as a liaison/link between health/social services and the community to facilitate access to services and improve the quality and cultural competence of service delivery. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards. Position Details: Education: High School Diploma or equivalent Experience: 1 year health care or social services experience Other Skills and Knowledge: Strong relationship and collaboration skills Excellent communication skills Ability to work independently Compassion for poor and underserved members of the community Basic Microsoft Office skills Preferred Qualifications: Community Health Worker Certification Other Skills and Knowledge: Additional language skills as applicable to community Why Mercy?
