POSITION SUMMARY

The Warp Dresser is responsible for operating dressing and rewinding machinery to prepare warp yarns for the weaving process in a textile manufacturing environment. This role requires attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and adherence to quality and safety standards to ensure production efficiency and product integrity.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB

  • Set up and remove yarn from creels at, below, and above shoulder height
  • Read and interpret textile patterns and specifications
  • Operate the Hacoba Dresser and Suzuki Sample Dresser
  • Beam warps upon completion of dressing process
  • Inspect work for quality and accuracy throughout the process
  • Follow all safety rules, procedures, and PPE requirements
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support mill operations

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Two (2) or more years of production or manufacturing experience is desired
  • Or an equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the essential functions of the role

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds occasionally and up to 5 pounds frequently
  • Ability to push wheeled yarn carts weighing approximately 50-400 pounds
  • Frequent use of hands and fingers to manipulate yarn
  • Ability to remove and replace pressure bars
  • Ability to stand and walk for the duration of the shift
  • Ability to use a step ladder to access higher sections of the yarn creel
  • Ability to reach and extend arms while dressing a warp
