Job Description




As a Security Officer - Warehouse Rounds Part-Time in Baldwinsville, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer at a logistics and distribution location, you will monitor assigned areas, conduct routine patrols around docks, yards, and access points, and maintain a visible presence that can help to reduce security-related incidents. You will document activity, respond to concerns, and communicate clearly with team members, drivers, and site leadership. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, and drivers by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a logistics and distribution location.
  • Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of warehouses, yards, parking areas, loading docks, and building perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and identify unusual conditions.
  • Monitor and control access at gates and entry points by verifying identification and/or credentials, issuing visitor passes as directed, and directing traffic flow for trucks and deliveries.
  • Perform truck and trailer arrival and departure checks as assigned, including observing seal status and documenting irregularities per site procedures.
  • Operate security-related systems and equipment such as CCTV, access control, and alarm panels, and report issues through the proper channels.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including notifying site contacts and/or public responders when appropriate.
  • Document patrol activity, incidents, and observations in written reports and electronic logs with clear, accurate, and timely details.
  • Assist with loss prevention and operational support by monitoring high-traffic areas, staging lanes, and shipping and receiving activity for policy compliance.
  • Provide directions and general assistance to associates, contractors, and visitors, escalating concerns to site leadership as needed.
  • Support evacuation and shelter procedures during weather events, fire alarms, or other emergencies in accordance with site instructions and Allied Universal guidelines.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Possess a New York State Security Guard License.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
