Job Description




As a Security Officer - Residential Gate Control in Boca Raton, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Residential, and more. Join Allied Universal at a residential community where you will manage access control, greet residents and guests, verify entry authorization, and support smooth traffic flow at the gate or lobby. You will conduct routine patrols of assigned areas, stay highly visible to help discourage security-related incidents, and document activity using a computer and/or tablet. Bring strong customer service and clear communication to support a welcoming environment for everyone on site.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to residents, guests, vendors, and/or delivery personnel by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a residential community.
  • Manage access control at entry and exit points by verifying identification, confirming authorization, issuing visitor instructions, and maintaining an organized visitor entry process.
  • Monitor vehicle and pedestrian traffic flow through gates and common-area access points, assisting with directions and coordinating with property management as needed.
  • Operate and monitor access control systems, intercoms, and/or CCTV as assigned, reporting irregular activity and documenting observations per site procedures.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including resident concerns, unauthorized access attempts, disturbances, and/or property rule violations.
  • Complete required reports such as incident reports, visitor logs, and shift activity reports with clear, accurate, and timely documentation.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of residential common areas, amenities, and perimeter zones as assigned, noting maintenance issues, lighting concerns, and/or suspicious conditions for follow-up.
  • Communicate professionally with residents and property staff to help resolve concerns, provide updates, and coordinate responses to developing situations.
  • Support emergency response activities as directed, including assisting with evacuation guidance, contacting emergency services, and/or controlling access for first responders.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
  • A guard card/license is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Be comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
