The Division of Infectious Diseases, Department of Medicine, at the Columbia University Irving Medical Center (CUIMC) invites applications for a clinical faculty position with expertise and interest in general infectious diseases, HIV and caring for immunocompromised hosts. Candidates should have strong clinical and teaching qualifications as well as track record of clinical research excellence. Responsibilities will include direct patient care, the supervision and teaching of housestaff (residents and fellows) and medical students and active participation in Division and Departmental activities. The candidate will work as a member of a vibrant multidisciplinary team both in clinical research and clinical care setting. Opportunities exist to work on clinical trials and clinical research on treatment, prevention and vaccine studies, including investigator-initiated studies, and on advancing infection-associated chronic illness care. This position offers substantial opportunities for growth, leadership and academic advancement within Infectious Diseases at our institution. Opportunities for teaching of fellows/residents/students and pursuit of research to answer clinical, translational and health care delivery questions are important components of the position. Candidates thus are expected to have a strong commitment to clinical medicine, teaching, and clinical research. Minimum Qualifications: M.D. or equivalent medical professional degree. Candidate must be board certified or board eligible in internal medicine and infectious diseases and must be eligible to practice in the State of New York. Preferred Qualifications: Training and or experience in clinical research and clinical trials in one of the areas of focus, including HIV treatment and preventive care, vaccines.
