What you'll do

The Tactical Communications Systems (TCS) group seeks a Project Engineer to assist with Network Control Station (NCS) builds and who is experienced in Systems and Terminal Design, with specific experience in UHF and L-Band. The Project Engineer will provide architecture and design guidance and perform the testing of the systems and their components.


The day-to-day

  • Supervise preparation of: Test Plans, Procedures, and needs to guide the efforts using company and industry standards.
  • Supervise test system deployment from hardware/software integration, to use in design verification, to Full Operational Capability (FOC).
  • Responsible for the design, development, production, test, and sustaining of complex systems or products.

  • Lead multi-functional teams (Systems, Software, Hardware, Firmware, Mechanical, Security, Quality and Operations) to evaluate the design.

  • Technically support proposals, whitepapers, and customer support.

  • Lead the development, testing, system performance, environmental and system troubleshooting.

  • Planning the development activities, technical design and reviews.

  • Define security, performance, product requirements and work with validation lab supporting engineering validation/verification product testing.

  • Execution of objectives including schedule, milestones, and technical performance.


What you'll need

  • 5+ years' experience in a technical Satellite Communication (SATCOM) systems environment.
  • Demonstrated technical SATCOM leadership experience.
  • Solid experience with networking (IP networking, routing, firewalls).
  • Excellent problemsolving and debugging skills, clear and effective communication, and a track record of collaborating across diverse technical and organizational teams, including internal stakeholders, vendors, subcontractors, and partners.
  • Ability to drive roadmap, strategy, and requirements management to achieve priorities.
  • Understanding or experience with MIL-STD requirements and test methods.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science or equivalent experience.
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Active DoD Secret Clearance or ability to obtain when administratively feasible.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% both CONUS or OCONUS.

What will help you on the job

  • Active DoD Secret Clearance.
  • Expertise with commonly used communications test equipment.
  • Hands on experience working with SATCOM terminals and communications solutions.
  • Experience with Government standards and requirements, such as; WGS Certification requirements, MIL-STE-810, MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-1275, DO-160, and RMF.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills at a technical and business user level.

Salary range

$91,500.00 - $144,500.00 / annually.
For specific work locations within San Jose, the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, the base pay range for this role is $105,500.00- $158,500.00/ annually
