The Marketing Operations Director is responsible for directing and managing the commercial promotional review process by partnering with key internal and external stakeholders to ensure an effective and efficient process to meet commercial objectives and goals. The Director is also responsible for leading and managing promotional materials including print production and fulfillment including collaborating with marketing teams and their agencies and providing metrics reporting and insights on promotional material usage.

This is a remote position open to applicants authorized to work for any employer within the United States.

Key Responsibilities/Essential Functions

Promotional Review Process



  • Lead the execution of our promotional review process (PRC), including document management within Veeva PromoMats, meeting scheduling and facilitation, and production proofing ensuring compliance with company processes.
  • Schedule and facilitate all PRC meetings considering timelines/prioritization for all projects and managing a forecast of future projects for PRC review.
  • Manage PRC agenda, project tracker and capture changes/edits during PRC meetings to document alignment decisions on material outcome.
  • Track PRC activity from initial submission through approval, proof and partner with Regulatory on OPDP submissions.
  • Work closely with the reviewers, project originators, and ad agencies to resolve any questions or issues.
  • Manage PRC timelines related to promotional labeling updates, POA/NSM meeting cycles, Peer-to-Peer speaker trainings and other key commercial events with an impact to PRC activity.
  • Partner with project originators and agencies by conducting PromoMats training and troubleshooting issues to ensure compliance with all product related materials.
  • Proactively manage periodic reviews and expiration of materials when replaced.
  • Proactively manage enhancements for PromoMats by soliciting feedback and partnering with stakeholders for implementation.
  • Proactively communicate project timelines to brand managers and agencies to manage competing commercial priorities.
  • Establish collaborative relationships with the Commercial team through frequent communication and interaction to understand needs and optimize effectiveness.
  • Support the department's working relationships with PRC committee to optimize effectiveness, efficiency and productivity.
  • Develop and provide quarterly metric reports evaluating productivity and effectiveness of PRC processes.


Promotional Material Management



  • Oversees our promotional materials management process, including printing production, inventory management, and field distribution.
  • Manages production schedule of all print materials and coordinates with agencies and production vendors ensuring timely delivery of materials.
  • Facilitates weekly production calls with key stakeholders aligning resource release with associated trainings.
  • Manages promotional material fulfillment center including inventory management and periodic reporting.
  • Prepares quarterly reports for marketers and sales leadership on commercial field resource utilization.
  • Partners with IT for management of data integration processes and frequency.
  • Oversees all field push shipments of promotional materials.
  • Manage production budget and coordinates accruals with Finance.


General



  • Manage business plan for Marketing Operations, reflecting clear alignment with the Commercial organization's strategic priorities.
  • Responsible for business process assessments, improvement recommendations and implementation.
  • Identifies gaps and recommends solutions for streamlining processes and creating efficiencies.
  • Gathers requirements for process improvements, implements with business partners as appropriate.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.


Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's degree (business preferred) or an equivalent combination of relevant education and applicable job experience may be considered, MBA highly desirable. A minimum of 8 years' experience in the pharmaceutical industry in a variety of progressively responsible marketing or operations positions including 5 years in Marketing Operations and/or management role.

Must possess:



  • Knowledge in best practices, business processes and commercial systems
  • MS Office proficiency in Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and intermediate skill in Excel.
  • Ability to create and implement business plans which align with the organization's strategy.
  • Strong understanding of best practices across the pharmaceutical industry
  • Insightful understanding of regulatory, legal and medical requirements for pharmaceutical marketing.
  • Business planning and budgeting acumen and judgment.
  • Strong diplomacy and facilitation skills.
  • Ability to work effectively across all functions as a team player.
  • Skills to negotiate with business partners or management and to influence senior level leaders regarding matters of significance to the organization.
  • Proficiency at creating and communicating a clear vision among team members effectively aligning resources and activities to achieve functional area and/or organizational goals.
  • Willingness to occasionally travel.

The pay range for this position is between $172,000 and $287,000 annually.

Actual base pay offered may vary depending on a number of factors such as job-related knowledge, skills and experience. Employees in this position are eligible for a discretionary performance-based cash incentive, and depending on the level of the role may be eligible for a discretionary annual equity award. Benefits for this position include a comprehensive health benefits package that includes medical, prescription drug, dental, and vision coverage. Other offerings include life and disability benefits, pre-tax accounts, a 401(k) with company contribution, and a variety of other benefits.
