The SCAN Security Director is responsible for the safety and security of company staff, visitors, property, and assets. This role reports to the Director of Facilities and manages all security operations, processes, procedures, badging, access, personnel, hardware, software, security vendors and camera systems. The Director coordinates with the Facilities department to lead the design, maintenance, repair and management of building security infrastructure and systems across SCAN and all portfolio companies, ensuring functionality, safety, and compliance with safety requirements and SCAN standards. Additionally, this role will lead the SCAN Threat Assessment Team (TAT) and contribute to SCAN's BCP planning.

You Will
Direct all day-to-day physical and personnel security operations across SCAN and its portfolio companies, ensuring protection of people, assets, and facilities. Respond to all security issues and report back to leadership.
Oversee administration, maintenance, and upgrades of all access control, surveillance, and alarm systems to ensure effective security coverage and compliance with internal standards.
Collaborate with Facilities to establish, maintain, and enforce security policies, procedures, and standards that align with organizational best practices and regulatory requirements.
Identify vulnerabilities, perform comprehensive risk and threat assessments, and develop mitigation strategies and response plans for potential incidents or emerging risks.
Partner with Business Continuity Planning (BCP) teams to create, test, and refine emergency action plans, tabletop exercises, and crisis management procedures.
Recruit, train, and schedule internal security staff while managing vendor relationships and contracts to ensure consistent, high-quality service delivery.
Build and maintain strong relationships with law enforcement agencies, emergency responders, and external partners to support coordinated incident response and information sharing.
Document, investigate, and report all security incidents in accordance with organizational protocols; provide recommendations for corrective action and prevention.
Oversee annual security budgeting, forecasting, and expense tracking; develop and deliver security awareness and best practices training for employees and leaders.
Work directly with SCAN portfolio companies to support and direct all security elements.

Your Qualifications

  • Minimum 5-8 years in a lead security role

  • 5 years of leadership experience

  • Experience in a security leadership role.

  • Experience and ability to work well under pressure.

  • Strong understanding of security technologies and systems.

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills to interact with clients, contractors, and building occupants.
