Optum is seeking a dedicated Hospitalist/Nocturnist to join our team in Orange County, to provide high-quality, patient-centered inpatient care. Position Highlights:
- 7-on / 7-off block model
- 7 day shifts + 2 night shifts per cycle (206 total shifts per year)
- Perform hospital rounds for patients referred to the service
- Overnight admitting; onsite presence required

Responsibilities
- Deliver care aligned with hospital medical staff bylaws and referring physician expectations
- Communicate effectively with families, referring to providers, specialists, administration, and hospital departments
- Work collaboratively with hospital staff, social services, utilization management, and interdisciplinary teams
- Participate in care planning, progress discussions, and evaluation of patient outcomes
- Ensure timely and accurate completion of all required documentation, including medical records and billing/coding
Required Qualifications:
- Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic (D.O.)
- Completion of an accredited residency Internal Medicine
- Board Certification in Internal Medicine, or Board Eligible for medical residents
- Active and unrestricted California Medical License or ability to obtain prior to start
- Current California DEA certificate or ability to obtain prior to start
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or ability to obtain prior to start
- EMR Proficient
