STS Technical Services is hiring an experienced IFR Helicopter Pilot to support air medical operations in Jefferson, Ohio. This is a high impact opportunity to fly critical care missions where precision, professionalism, and safety are non negotiable. Position Overview

This role supports helicopter air ambulance operations under CAMTS guidelines. Pilots operate in a demanding, fast paced environment alongside medical crews, providing rapid response transport when lives are on the line. Every mission counts. Every decision matters.


Operation Details

  • Helicopter air ambulance operations under CAMTS guidelines
  • Aircraft: EC135 SP
  • IFR and NVG operations
  • Captain level position
  • Twenty four hour operations with rotating day and night shifts
  • Aircraft transition training may require a one year service commitment
  • Relocation assistance available with a two year service commitment if utilized
  • Off duty housing available for commuting pilots at their own expense

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform all line pilot duties in accordance with the General Operations Manual
  • Conduct safe and compliant day and night IFR medical transport missions
  • Support the Safety Management System, Destination Zero, and company safety initiatives
  • Assist with patient and medical equipment loading and unloading as required
  • Participate in community outreach and base engagement activities
  • Communicate effectively with medical crews, dispatch, and operational leadership
  • Deliver professional, efficient, and customer focused service on every mission

Minimum Qualifications

  • Commercial Helicopter Rating
  • Instrument Helicopter Rating
  • First Class Medical Certificate
  • Meet CAMTS minimum flight time requirements:


    • 2,000 total flight hours
    • 1,500 helicopter hours
    • 1,000 hours PIC helicopter
    • 500 hours turbine helicopter
    • 100 hours unaided night operations OR
    • 50 hours unaided night plus 100 hours NVG
    • 75 hours instrument time, actual and hood

  • Must meet company flight personnel weight restriction policy of 235 pounds or less
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated customer service mindset
  • Ability to pass pre placement physical, functional capacity exam, drug screening, and background check
  • Interview and acceptance by client and operational leadership required

Schedule and Location Requirements

  • Schedule: 7 days on, 7 days off
  • Schedule rotation may be required based on operational needs
  • Base location: Jefferson, Ohio
