Job Description Overview

BlueWater Federal is looking for a Jr Technical Writer to support our business development team to develop RFP/RFI/MRAS responses to military and federal government proposals. This is a fully remote opportunity.


Responsibilities

  • Identify and clarify requirements, study requests for proposals (RFPs) to understand requirements and evaluation criteria; develop questions for the Government based on analysis and discussion.
  • Develop, refine, and edit content for Management, Technical, Past Performance, and Resume proposal sections.
  • Maintain quality results by using templates and proposal-writing standards for readability, consistency, and tone.
  • Attend review meetings and incorporate feedback from the review into proposal responses.
  • Interview corporate and industry subject matter experts (SME) to develop content; convert interviews into content; and work iteratively with SME(s) to validate and improve the response.
  • Incorporate content from solution meetings and other contributors into the response; conduct research on technical and management topics to develop and refine solutions and content.
  • Advance proposal sections through review cycles with additional research, interviews, and content development.
  • Perform end-to-end technical and grammar edits on documents as requested.

Qualifications

  • BA or BS in English, Journalism, Business/Technical Communications, Information Technology, or other related subject area with 1+ years' experience writing in a professional setting.
  • 1+ years' experience writing and editing federal government proposals or other equivalent technical writing experience.
  • Knowledge of and/or familiarity with Shipley, APMP, or equivalent proposal development methods and processes.
  • Proficient in use of Microsoft Office and Microsoft SharePoint.
  • Hours may include time outside of regular workdays (nights, weekends, holidays) as required.
  • Excellent written communication skills (content development, editing, grammar, style, spelling, punctuation, proofreading).
