Job Description




As a Security Officer - Hospital Access Driver in Saratoga Springs, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. As an Access Control Officer with Allied Universal at a leading healthcare location, you will welcome staff and visitors, manage entries, verify credentials, and support badge and visitor processes while keeping a strong, visible presence. You will conduct routine patrols and report security-related concerns with clear communication and strong customer service. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver's license, where agility, teamwork, and integrity help you make an impact.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to staff, patients, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Control access at designated entry points by checking identification, verifying authorization, issuing temporary credentials when directed, and maintaining visitor logs.
  • Screen individuals, packages, and deliveries in accordance with location procedures and report prohibited items and/or suspicious activity to site leadership.
  • Monitor alarms, access control panels, and camera systems when assigned, and document irregular activity following post orders.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including medical emergencies, disturbances, and/or facility policy violations.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter, including lobbies, corridors, parking areas, and restricted zones as assigned.
  • Help to reduce unauthorized entry by challenging and redirecting individuals in restricted areas and coordinating with management for proper escort when required.
  • Complete detailed reports for shift activities, incidents, and unusual observations, and communicate pertinent information during shift handoff.
  • Support location procedures related to patient privacy and controlled areas by limiting access to authorized personnel and reporting potential privacy concerns through the appropriate channels.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A minimum of 1+ years of security experience is required.
  • A valid driver's license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
