Job Description




As a Security Officer - Courthouse Patrol in Cleveland, OH, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a government location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, and remain visible to help reduce security-related incidents. You will greet and assist visitors, communicate clearly with staff and responders, and document observations with professionalism. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to our clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the location, buildings, parking areas and perimeter; working environments and conditions may vary by site.
  • Control access to government facilities by greeting visitors, verifying identification and/or appointments, issuing visitor badges and directing guests to appropriate areas per site policy.
  • Monitor alarms, cameras and other security-related systems, report irregular conditions and notify appropriate personnel when needed.
  • Write clear incident reports, daily activity logs and patrol documentation in accordance with site requirements.
  • Assist with crowd management and orderly queuing during public-facing events, meetings and peak visitor hours.
  • Support emergency procedures such as evacuations, severe weather response and medical response by communicating instructions and contacting emergency services as directed.
  • Interact professionally with employees, visitors and the public, de-escalating conflicts when possible and requesting law enforcement assistance when appropriate.
  • Perform perimeter and interior checks for unsecured doors, restricted areas violations and other policy concerns, helping to deter unauthorized activity.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
