As a Security Officer - Armed Medical Patrol in Birmingham, AL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer in a healthcare location, you will conduct routine patrols, remain highly visible, and help to deter security-related incidents while supporting patients, visitors, and staff with clear communication and customer service. You will monitor assigned areas, respond to calls for assistance, and document activity as needed. Why Join Us: What You'll Do: - Provide customer service to patients, visitors, and staff by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
- Carry and maintain assigned firearm and related equipment in accordance with licensing requirements, post orders, and Allied Universal policies.
- Conduct regular and random armed patrols of hospital buildings, entrances, parking areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and/or policy violations.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, using de-escalation techniques and clear communication.
- Control access at designated points by monitoring entry and exit, verifying authorization when required, and directing visitors to appropriate locations.
- Assist clinical teams by providing a security-related presence during high-risk interactions, disruptive behavior, and/or patient elopement concerns, consistent with post orders.
- Monitor alarms, cameras, and/or other security-related systems, and coordinate response actions with onsite staff and local emergency services as directed.
- Document patrols, incidents, and observed hazards using required reporting tools, and promptly notify supervision and site contacts of significant events.
- Enforce site rules and applicable regulations in a professional manner, including addressing prohibited items, restricted areas, and/or trespass situations.
- Participate in required training, briefings, and drills, and maintain readiness for changing working environments and conditions at the location.
Minimum Requirements: - - Possess a concealed carry weapons permit.
- - Be 21+ years of age.
- - Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
- - Customer service experience is preferred.
- - Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
- - Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
- - Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- - As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.

- - As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- - Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
- - Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- - A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
