Ophthlamic or Optometric Assistant /Tech Leesburg, VA Pay From: $21 Per hour MUST: 1+year of experience as an Optometric or Ophthalmic Tech Applanation Tonometry and eye pressure techs Assist with cataract surgeries and consultations Contact lens insertion Ordering contact lenses Visual Field Testing Handling eye dilations Performing Manual Refractions, fundus exams and eye pressure exams OCT's COA/COT certification a plus Great customer service support skills DUTIES: The Ophthalmic Technician or Optometric Tech will be responsible for but not limited to the following: Room Patients and obtain medical histories Perform visual field testing, fundus exams and manual refractions Dilate eyes Measure eyeglass prescription Order contact lenses Assist with contact lense insertions Operate various ophthalmology diagnostic equipment Applies drops to anesthetize, dilate, or medicate eyes Prepares patients for treatment and assists ophthalmologist with procedures Provide patient education Ensures confidentiality by completing and safeguarding medical records Provide quality patient care, excellent communication and customer service Help generate leads towards laser vision correction surgery Creates a comfortable and welcoming environment for our patients Perform routine instrument maintenance Quadrant is an affirmative action/equal opportunity employer.
