Job Summary

The Director of Retail Sales is responsible for developing and executing Foster Farms' strategic sales plans to drive growth, market share, and profitability across key grocery retail accounts. This leader will manage the Walmart & Sam's Club accounts, as well as lead a high-performing sales team, while collaborating cross-functionally to deliver results that align with company and customer's objectives.



Essential Job Functions



  • Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve company revenue and profit goals in the grocery retail channel.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key national and regional grocery retailers and broker partners, as assigned, across multiple departments including Fresh & Frozen Poultry, Frozen Snacks, Wall & Service Deli, Lunchmeat & Hot Dogs.
  • Lead and mentor a team of account managers and brokers, to ensure excellence in customer management and sales execution.
  • Partner with marketing, operations, and supply chain to align sales strategies with overall business objectives.
  • Analyze sales trends, market dynamics, and competitive landscape to identify opportunities for growth and mitigate potential risks.
  • Lead annual planning, promotional strategy, forecasting, and trade spend management for assigned accounts.
  • Drive new business development, product launches, and category expansions within existing and prospective accounts.
  • Optimize pricing strategies and trade promotions to ensure ROI while valuing up the overall customer and company margins.
  • Conduct quarterly category reviews and presentations by department.
  • Represent the company at key industry trade shows, customer meetings, and joint business planning sessions.
  • Prompt resolution of quality, distribution, and customer service issues.

Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree and 8+ years of retail sales management experience in the food/CPG industry required.
  • Experience with direct headquarter sales responsibility at Walmart and Sam's Club, including a thorough understanding of their strategy & expectations of a fresh poultry supplier.
  • Experience with customers go-to-market promotional activity planning, new item introduction including national launch experience and trade promotional planning with P & L responsibilities.
  • Strong analytical skills; including category management and trade promotional efficiency experience.
  • Proficient with Microsoft office, TPM/SAP, Retail Link, syndicated (Circana/Nielsen), and account specific data.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal and communications skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-stress environment.
  • Ability to regularly travel up to 25% of the time (based on business needs).
