Job Title: Senior Project Manager



About Us:


Henderson Engineers is a recognized leader in the engineering field, providing innovative solutions for complex projects. We are seeking a Senior Project Manager to join our Venue Business Line and contribute to the success of high-profile and/or complex projects. This is an exciting opportunity to lead diverse project teams, oversee project execution, and enhance client relationships.



Position Overview:


The Senior Project Manager is responsible for the overall leadership, planning, and execution of high-profile and/or complex projects and programs. This role involves managing project teams, ensuring effective communication with stakeholders, and delivering projects successfully within budget and timeline. The Senior Project Manager will oversee all aspects of project execution, including resource management, quality assurance, and client satisfaction.



Minimum Requirements:



  • Education:
    Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, science, technology, or business required. Relevant experience within the AEC or Professional Services industry may be considered in lieu of requisite education.
  • Experience:


    • 14 years of relevant experience required, including a minimum of 10 years in project management.
    • Minimum 18 years of experience required without a degree.


  • Skills:


    • Advanced proficiency in project management standards and execution.
    • Advanced knowledge and application of building design and construction principles.




Preferred Qualifications:



  • Certifications:


    • Project management certification preferred.
    • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.




Job Responsibilities:



  • Project Planning and Coordination:


    • Oversee and coordinate all aspects of project planning, execution, and client experience.
    • Manage the development of project proposals, contracts, and budgets.
    • Plan and coordinate project deliverables, delegating as needed.


  • Client and Stakeholder Communication:


    • Maintain proactive communication with clients and stakeholders throughout the project life cycle.
    • Ensure client satisfaction and effectively manage expectations.


  • Project Performance and Financial Management:


    • Monitor and ensure adherence to project budgets and financial expectations.
    • Ensure overall project performance meets or exceeds expectations.
    • Develop scope of work and fees for complex projects, mitigating risks throughout the life cycle.


  • Team Leadership and Development:


    • Lead and mentor project and program team members, including less experienced designers, engineers, or project managers.
    • Advise, coach, and provide guidance on project execution and communication.


  • Quality and Risk Management:


    • Define and manage project quality expectations.
    • Ensure deliverables meet project objectives and quality standards.
    • Proactively resolve project-related conflicts and share lessons learned to improve the client experience.


  • Sub-Consultant and Resource Management:


    • Select, manage, and maintain relationships with project sub-consultants.
    • Coordinate resources to meet project goals and client expectations.


  • Business Development:


    • Partner with sector and practice leadership to support business development strategies within your sector or practice.
    • Establish and maintain relationships with clients and strategic partners to expand business opportunities.


  • Project Management Standards:


    • Advocate for project management quality and standards across project teams.
    • Collaborate with practice, operations, and technical leadership to align on training and development for project staff.
