Job Description

Beaker Analyst - Clinical Operations

Join El Camino Health, a distinguished five-time Magnet-recognized facility with approximately 400 beds across two campuses in the heart of Silicon Valley. As a Beaker Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in advancing laboratory and clinical operations within a leading-edge healthcare environment renowned for nursing excellence and innovation.

In this dynamic position, the Beaker Analyst will coordinate, review, analyze, and maintain laboratory information systems-including Epic Beaker-across both campuses. Your responsibilities will span the full system lifecycle: from gathering specifications and configuring solutions, to rigorous testing, activation, and ongoing optimization.

You will collaborate closely with a diverse group of end users-physicians, nurses, pharmacists, Patient Accounts, Health Information Management (HIM), and more-to:

  • Map and evaluate current workflows and operating procedures
  • Define and refine system and workflow requirements
  • Collect and analyze operational data to drive evidence-based improvements
  • Identify challenges and champion opportunities for process innovation

As a subject matter expert, you will provide specialized technical and operational guidance to management, supervisors, and staff, ensuring the effective adoption and utilization of laboratory and clinical systems. You will also mentor junior informatics and analyst staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and excellence in informatics and system implementation.

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Delivering Tier 3 support for complex system issues
  • Participating in a rotating on-call schedule to ensure seamless system operations
  • Traveling between campuses as needed to support projects and operational needs

THIS IS AN ONSITE HBYBRID POSITION IN MOUNTAIN VIEW.

QUALIFICATIONS

1. Some college education with Bachelor's degree preferred.

2. At least 1.5 years' experience with implementing Clinical or revenue cycle/business Applications

3. At least two (2) years' of clinical experience in an acute care hospital or ambulatory clinic preferred (i.e., RN, MD, Pharmacist, Resp Therapist, Clinical Lab Scientist)

4. Experience coordinating team projects

5. Knowledge of medical terminology

6. Excellent communication skills, oral and written, interpersonal, organizational, and computer skills. Proven ability with Excel, Word, and Outlook.

7. Ability to work with minimum supervision and to interact well with all levels of employees and physicians throughout the organization, participate in intra- and interdepartmental collaboration, and handle multiple tasks concurrently to meet deadlines.

8. Proven analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to do report writing, meeting minutes, and update/change/make project plans.

LICENSE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS

1. If configuring Epic BEAKER certification is required

2. Current Healthcare certification or licensure preferred

Salary Range:

$73.68 - $110.52 USD Hour
