What we are looking for

SCS Engineers is looking for a Commissioning Process Engineer. You will be responsible for the execution, troubleshooting, validation, commissioning, and startup activities for process systems on large-scale EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) projects. You will ensure systems are installed, tested, and transitioned into operational service in alignment with design specifications, safety standards, and client expectations. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot issues, optimize performance, and ensure successful project delivery. You will be based in our Long Beach Headquarters ideally (hybrid) and will be traveling to project sites across the U.S. about 50% of the time.



How you can make an impact

    Develop and implement commissioning plans and procedures for process systems.
  • Review and interpret P&IDs, process flow diagrams, control logic documents, and cause & effect diagrams to ensure accurate system configuration.
  • Coordinate with engineering, construction, and operations teams to ensure systems are ready for commissioning.
  • Execute system startup activities, review and coordination of prestart-up checklists, including functional testing and performance validation of both vendor supplies and company supplied equipment and systems.
  • Identify and troubleshoot process system issues during startup; recommend and implement corrective actions.
  • Hands on operation of control screens for commissioning, operation, & optimization of system performance.
  • Minor electrical and mechanical physical trouble shooting.
  • Validate system performance against design criteria and operational requirements.
  • Document commissioning activities, test results, and system readiness.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, environmental regulations, and client specifications.
  • Provide technical support and training to operations personnel during system handover.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related engineering major required.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in commissioning or process engineering, preferably in EPC projects required.
  • Willingness and ability to travel extensively to project sites 50%+.
  • Experience with startup and troubleshooting of industrial process systems.
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license or certification is a plus.
  • Familiarity with commissioning software tools, SCADA * PLC operation & troubleshooting as well as documentation platforms.
  • Valid driver's license with a driving record in good standing.


Pay Range

USD $90,000.00 - USD $135,000.00 /Yr.
