Offered salary will be determined by the applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. Job Summary: Reporting to the Associate Director, the International Scholar Advisor will serve as an Alternate Responsible Officer (ARO) as determined by the U.S. Department of State. The Advisor is responsible for advising international scholars in J-1, H-1B, E-3, and TN status. The Advisor will also work to inform the campus community on relevant federal immigration regulations and federal agency guidance. Additionally, the Advisor will ensure regulatory compliance by reporting and maintaining international scholar records in the SEVIS system and in the Terra Dotta portal/database and other immigration case management systems (currently Docketwise). Specific Responsibilities:
Miscellaneous Performs other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree 1-2 years of experience in international education Knowledge of visa categories (F, J, H-1B, E-3, TN) and federal regulations Must be U.S. Citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident, meet Department of Homeland Security Designated School Official requirements Ability to work with teams in an outcome-based environment Ability to manage confidential information Demonstrated ability to communicate across cultures Minimum Competencies: (Skills, knowledge, and abilities.) COLL-collegiality COMP-Computer Proficiency COW-Communication Oral and Written EN- Ethics and Integrity INT-Initiative MUT-Multitasking DTO-Detail Oriented Preferred Qualifications: Master's in a relevant field 2-3 years of direct experience with international students and scholars Preferred Competencies: (Skills, knowledge, and abilities)
