What You'll Do As a Senior Construction Administrator, you'll be the hub between owners, designers, and contractors-leading constructionphase coordination, upholding quality and code adherence, and keeping documentation tight from noticetoproceed through final inspection and startup. You'll mentor CA staff and serve as the primary daytoday contact for field execution.
- Assist in evaluation of contractor proposals, bids, estimates, schedules, and change orders; advise the design team and owner representatives on needed decisions.
- Administer contracts and all documentation through the complete construction phase, including submittals/RFIs, change orders, pay apps, final inspection, and startup.
- Serve as the primary contact between contractor and design team; coordinate prompt decisions and communicate impacts to scope, schedule, and budget.
- Maintain current knowledge of the ownerarchitect agreement and any additional service agreements; ensure compliance in field execution.
- Review plans and specifications to coordinate design intent and construction means/methods; flag discrepancies and drive timely resolution.
- Perform regular jobsite visits to discuss activities, progress, and issues with superintendents and trade partners; document observations thoroughly.
- Direct design staff in developing sequences that deliver a highquality facility at minimum costs; provide constructability feedback to design teams.
- Coordinate equipment startup and commissioning touchpoints with the client and contractor; track issues to closure and support O&M handover.
- Attend owner/contractor meetings; provide updates, capture action items, and ensure followthrough on deliverables.
- Meet with state, city, and county officials for construction review and code adherence as necessary.
- Assist the owner and design team in resolving conflicts with suppliers and contractors; escalate unusual conditions and facilitate solutions.
- Review contractor/supplier payment requests for accuracy and conformance with progress and contract terms.
- Ensure applicable quality procedures are executed timely on assigned projects; promote lessons learned and continuous improvement.
- Train and/or supervise lessexperienced Construction Administrators; model SSR standards for documentation and client service.
Who We're Looking For Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline and 10 years of experience OR 15 years of experience in construction and applicable design
Preferred Qualifications:
- Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Thorough knowledge of applicable codes and regulations and project management software (e.g., Newforma, ProjectTrek).
- Knowledge of engineering theories/methodologies, project approach, and system design; interrelationships among key disciplines.
- Knowledge of multidisciplined construction systems and projects; general understanding of Revit.
- Negotiation, problemsolving, organization, and interpersonal skills; clear written communication and speech clarity.
- Detailoriented with sound judgment and decisionmaking; ability to marshal resources and orchestrate multiple activities at once.
