We are seeking a temporary systems engineer with experience in requirements management to support the development, verification, and validation of complex engineered systems. The candidate will work across multidisciplinary teams to ensure system and plant requirements are clear, traceable, and verifiable to form the backbone of system design and compliance. The ideal candidate is an experienced systems thinker who excels at requirements definition, decomposition, and lifecycle traceability across multi-discipline teams, as well as a demonstrated curiosity for thinking through how systems function and why.

Responsibilities

* Develop, decompose, and maintain system and subsystem requirements in alignment with program objectives and stakeholder needs.

* Transforming needs into clear, unambiguous, and measurable stakeholder and system requirements.

* Managing changes to requirements and maintaining traceability throughout the project lifecycle.

* Maintain configuration and change control of system requirements, interfaces, and design documentation to ensure lifecycle consistency.

* Effectively communicating with technical and non-technical stakeholders to ensure clear understanding of requirements.

* Promoting best practices associated with needs, requirements, verification, and validation and facilitate implementation of lessons learned to improve efficiency in the day-to-day activities.

* Identify opportunities to streamline the requirements management process.

* Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

* BS Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related design discipline required. MS degree is a plus

* 6+ years of experience in systems engineering or related technical disciplines with at least 3 years" experience in trade studies, functional decomposition, requirement development/allocation, and interface definition and specifications

* Proven experience with systems lifecycle management (concept to verification/validation).

* Experience in regulated industries (oil & gas, aerospace, energy, defense, nuclear, medical) is required

* Knowledge of safety-critical systems, reliability engineering, and risk management is desired

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

* Strong understanding of systems engineering principles, V-model development, and requirements management.

* Proficient in requirements definition, analysis, and management in at least one requirements management tool (e.g. DOORS, Jama Connect, etc), with a preference for Jama Connect.

* Skill in interface management and configuration control across multi-disciplinary systems.

* Ability to perform verification and validation planning consistent with regulatory or safety-critical standards.

* Ability to synthesize information from multiple engineering disciplines into cohesive system-level requirements

* Ability to function in a fast-paced small company environment with minimal direction and adjust workload based upon changing priorities under tight timing constraints.

* Proven ability to create and maintain cross-functional working relationships and communicating design concepts and information

* Ability to work with highly collaborative team

* Ability to solve problems quickly and efficiently

* Prioritizes and ensures safety of oneself and others

* Ability to proactively collect, manage and transfer knowledge

* Ability to seek different and novel ways to create efficiencies when working on problems, challenges and issues

Safety and PPE

* Reading and interpreting hazardous warning signs

* Reporting issues with equipment or unsafe conditions

* Wearing proper PPE, to include face mask, face shields, gloves, safety shoes, etc.

Travel

* Some travel may be required, up to 20%

Additional Requirements

* Occasionally requires schedule flexibility

* Occasionally requires occasional non-standard work-week hours

* Occasionally requires occasional extended hours to support launch and critical project timelines
