Job Summary
The Manufacturing Engineer position is responsible for improving operations, quality assurance, and processes in a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility, and ensuring that the production of customer product is done with highly efficient and productive methodologies. The position will also develop, support, and optimize manufacturing operations for CNC, Sheetmetal, and Additive technologies.
Essential Functions
- Lead projects that analyze, review, and improve processes, including those in CNC machining, additive manufacturing, metal fabrication, post-processing, finishing, and quality control.
- Continual Improvement of day-to-day manufacturing operations to reduce costs and waste to improve quality and profits utilizing Lean Manufacturing principles.
- Troubleshoot manufacturing processes including internal review, CAPA, audits, or complaints.
- Utilize technical expertise on manufacturing best practices and implement new and innovative methods to improve manufacturing operations.
- Develop and maintain documented procedures necessary to ensure consistent output of high-quality products including corrective and preventative maintenance plans.
- Analyze production workflow to improve utilization, optimize efficiencies, and reduce bottlenecks.
- Review product drawings, CAD data, and other specifications to confirm that all customer requirements can and have been met.
- Provide feedback to customers on their product drawings in regard to design for manufacturability (DFM).
- Review measuring and qualification activities to ensure proper results are determined, recorded, and reported and that issues with nonconforming products are communicated to the appropriate person.
- Maximize operational efficiencies by estimating costs and production times for small and larger scale manufacturing opportunities.
- Investigate new manufacturing machinery, material testing equipment, and metrology systems and report to management for acquisition.
- Implement processes to properly operate, maintain, and report data (FAI, FAIR, PPAP) collected with these systems.
- Develop and support data security and workplace safety programs
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational trainings
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment

Technical Competencies
- Proficient knowledge of prototyping and manufacturing capabilities specific metal working and additive manufacturing
- Proficient knowledge of ERP and Quality Management Systems
- Proficient knowledge of CMM systems and 3D scanning metrology
- Proficient knowledge of the ISO 9001 and AS9100 standards
- Proficient computer literacy, including Microsoft Office and CAD related software

Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field required, Master's degree preferred
- 2+ years of experience in related Manufacturing environments
- 5 years' experience in aerospace manufacturing and or other higher regulated industries
Physical Requirements & Professional Experience:
- Ability to sit for extended periods of time
- Ability to use hands and fingers to operate computer and handle/feel small and large parts
- Ability to focus vision for: close vision, color vision, depth perception and adjusting to sharp focus
- Ability to lift up to 10 lbs occasionally throughout work week
Work Hours/Travel:
- 1st shift work schedule, Monday - Friday
- Remote available upon approval
- Up to 20% travel required
