YOUR IMPACT

As a Sr. Software Engineer, you will be one of the primary contributors to our B2B Connect product development team. You will be responsible for designing and implementing new features, resolving defects, participating in architecture and design discussions, supporting the Quality Assurance team, and collaborating with Operations to troubleshoot application problems. This position requires a deep understanding of the current system design and strong hands-on technical expertise.

WHAT THE ROLE OFFERS

  • Design and implement complex software components with detailed technical precision.
  • Develop high-quality, maintainable code in alignment with design specifications.
  • Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve defects efficiently.
  • Demonstrate strong technical skills, including coding, scripting, and database development.
  • Apply knowledge of EDI Messaging and B2B integration in solution design.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of experience in software development.
  • Proven experience across the full software development lifecycle: analysis, design, implementation, testing, and release management.
  • Proficiency in Java, JSP, Spring, Hibernate, JavaScript, Web Services, REST APIs, and Microservices.
  • Expertise in database design and SQL/PLSQL (Oracle).
  • Strong scripting skills (bash, ksh, Python).
  • Familiarity with communication protocols: FTP, SFTP, FTPS, AS2, HTTPS.
  • Experience with Apache Tomcat
  • Familiarity with Messaging Platforms - Webmethods Integration Server, Broker or Kafka etc.
  • Experience managing CI/CD pipelines, release automation, and deployment orchestration
  • Solid understanding of web security principles and solutions.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and time management skills.

Desirable Skills

  • Experience of Webmethods Integration server, Broker (or Kafka)
  • Experience working in public cloud technologies - (AWS preferred)
  • Familiar with Agile framework/SCRUM development methodologies

Compensation: At OpenText, we offer a thoughtfully designed benefits package that supports your physical, emotional, and financial wellbeing. As you move through the hiring process, we're happy to provide more details about our compensation programs, including variable and commission compensation opportunities for eligible roles, vacation entitlement, and paid time off.

Salary Range: $108,990 - $179,055; Depending on the candidate's education, experience, skills, geographical location, and alignment with internal equity and external market, actual salary may vary and be higher or lower than the range posted.
